Editing
I have been writing and editing text and visual artwork all my life: for glossy magazines and newspapers in the 80s, on the road in the 90s, for grassroots publications as the millennium turned.
I now mostly work as an editor and producer for the print and online editions of the Dark Mountain Project (see artwork below) but I also work as a freelance editor and advisor, mostly for books and creative projects. Recent editing work has included Playing for Time -Making Art as if the World Mattered (with author Lucy Neal) and the upcoming Landworkers Alliance anniversary anthology.
As an art editor and director, I have worked with hundreds of artists and photographers, showcasing their work and ‘translating’ visual images into words. Recently I’ve collaborated with several arts organisations, including The Extraction Project, art.earth, Wilderness Art Collective and Walking Forest. I co-created the occasional booklet Sheaf with grain and pulse pioneers Hodmedod to demonstrate the beauty and intelligence of regenerative farming.
