Eight Fires: Spring Sessions

Join me this March with the Dark Mountain team in the crossover time around Spring Equinox to find out how to maintain a collaborative practice during the year, inspired by our new handbook Eight Fires. With fellow practitioners, contributors and readers around the world.

These gatherings aim to strengthen the relationships between people and places and to foster a culture that can both weather the storm of current crises and work in relationship with the more-than-human world.  Our sessions will centre around the days either side of the spring equinox, to celebrate the shift as the year crosses the bridge from the dark months of winter into the lighter months of spring.

As well as sharing stories, tools and practices and discussion with fellow explorers, these sessions are an invitation to enter the dynamics of spring and to create a piece of work that bridges this seasonal change. We will be working with the water bodies of local territories (ponds, lakes, springs, streams, rivers, seas) to develop a creative practice to rejoin nature and culture, myth and experience, just as the land joins the water at every shore.

The sessions will be co-hosted with Mark Watson, Caroline Ross and Lucy Neal, who have all led Dark Mountain and Schumacher workshops together.
